Letter from Elizabeth's good friend and business associate

10/23

Friends,

With great sadness I have to inform you regarding my good friend and
business associate, Elizabeth Papapetrou.

On Wednesday morning, October 8th, Elizabeth suffered an aneurism and was
rushed to the St. Augustine Hospital and then to Shand's Hospital in
Gainesville, FLA. She had been preparing to come up to New York that very
morning and was looking forward to a few days at AES and visiting friends
and family - also working at the studio here, in Woodstock, CT, on some
material for an upcoming album.

On Friday morning she underwent corrective surgery - which seemed to go
well. However, by Sunday morning she was irretrievably gone.

I have known Elizabeth for 6 years and we have been business associates
for 5 of those years. In that time she helped with the web-design and
marketing of both The Sound Room and our new manufacturing
company, Taylor Hohendahl Engineering (T.H.E., LLC)

6 months ago, she took over the management of all retail operations -
basically ownership - <of> The Sound Room and was on her way to purchasing
the business outright for herself and her partner. On her trip here, she
was going to sign the final paperwork for complete ownership on Friday, October 10th.

I cannot write a truthful and flowing obituary here and even begin to do
her justice. She was more than a business associate or a friendly voice on
the phone. "E" was a trusted friend and confidant. We found a sympathetic
and complimentary (sometimes adversarial) business/friendship that pushed
both of us to look for new ideals, ideas, and goals - and constantly seek
to improve our own lives and those around us in achieving those goals.

I cannot tell you of her long stay at the Findhorn Community, her
spiritual work with Sathya Sai Baba, her musicianship, her quest for
personal and professional knowledge, her writing technical papers on
everything from early Commodore and Tandy computers to modern audio
recording techniques and microphone reviews.

Elizabeth was gifted, interested in the world around her and constantly
seeking new areas of exploration. She was always ready to pitch in and
help, to give of herself in the very best of ways. Outspoken, vociferous,
sometimes argumentative - but always quick to smile - she often made those
around her reassess their own attitudes, beliefs and orientation(s). In
the last year she had taken great strides in her personal life - made a
life-commitment to a wonderful partner, designed and built a new house -
was writing, performing, engineering and recording again.

For all of us whose lives have been touched by Elizabeth, we offer our
love and prayers for her continued evolution and our gratitude for having
shared a few brief moments of this eternity with her.

At this time, we are in the process of reviewing all sales and shipments
of the last 4 weeks, in order to make sure that all orders have been
completed. Next, we hope to move the retail operation and have it up and
running again by the first week of November. Please bear with us as we try
to resume normal operations after this terrible tragedy.

(Taylor Johnson)
